De Koekfabriek contributes to this by giving people who are distanced from the labor market a fair chance. They bake delicious cookies and package them, giving them a chance to reintegrate into society!

About 10% of the Dutch working population wants to participate, but is being overlooked. People with physical and/or intellectual disabilities, asylum seekers with or without a residence permit. People with autism, formerly homeless people, ex-convicts. Young people who were unable to complete their education. All of these people are often overlooked for their abilities. Sometimes they simply disappear from the radar, become depressed, or end up in crime. With all the negative consequences that entails. First and foremost for themselves, but also for their families and friends, and society as a whole.

The Koekfabriek isn't going to give up! Everyone gets a chance to participate and contribute. Because participating makes you happy and boosts your self-esteem.
