One simple question turned the Johnnies' lives upside down in 2020. Because a cashew nut from Tanzania traveling all the way to the Netherlands via Asia? That means 12,000 unnecessary transport kilometers and the associated emissions. Crazy. They decided to do things differently.

Fortunately, the solution is clear: keep your hands off other people's nuts! They now ensure that all their cashews are processed in the country of origin and shipped directly here. Less travel, less CO2 emissions. In short: all detour cashews should be eliminated! Will you join us?

They're already well on their way to eliminating these "round-trip cashews," as they call them. Their nuts come directly from Tanzania, which has already saved them over 200,000 transport kilometers. They source these cashews from over 1,000 Fairtrade-certified farmers. They are shelled locally at Mama Cashew's factory, where 600 jobs have already been created.
