The organic crackers were first conceived by Kari, who grew up in Norway. Kari has lived in Salland for 20 years and always made Norwegian knekkebrød (knekkebrød) for family and friends. Everyone was so positive and enthusiastic about the taste of Kari's crackers that it became a social enterprise in 2017. Since 2019, they have had a proper cracker factory in Heino. The crackers are now available in more than 100 stores. In addition to their existing crackers, the company continues to improve and innovate. For example, since this year they also produce tasty appetizer and vegetable crackers.

Social enterprise

Kari's Crackers is a social enterprise with approximately 35 employees. Its goal is to offer work experience placements for people who want to gain a work rhythm and experience and need practical support.

They offer a wonderful, safe, and familiar work environment where every employee is empowered to improve themselves. This can be physical (fitness, concentration, motor skills) but also other aspects such as recognizing one's limits, learning to ask questions, building self-confidence, managing production processes, and so on. Kari's Crackers focuses on people who currently receive benefits and are not yet able to directly enter the regular labor market. They also want to offer young people (18+) without a starting qualification the opportunity to get off to a good start.
